Just wanted to talk to you about my story from being a dancer at The Army DC then also becoming Beckie’s PA.
Beckie has helped me grow as a person so so much and I cannot thank her enough. I have danced for the company for over 3 years now and I will continue to do so. A year and a half ago, in contemporary class i danced like I had never danced before and just broke down in tears. Beckie immediately knew something was wrong and asked to meet me for a coffee the next morning. I cried to beckie when I was at my lowest, I was going through a bad break up, didn’t enjoy my job, I didn’t see my friends, I stayed in every weekend and probably cried every single day without a fail. Beckie’s words were “Go out with your dancer friends, they are friends for life” I did exactly that and now I have the bestest friends.
In January 2022 I was lucky enough to get an opportunity to work as Beckie’s PA. (Oh what a job! I Have had many laughs with Beckie and amazing opportunities, I’ve also gained many new skills!) Me trying to write up emails before haha, we don’t want to talk about it! I am so grateful to have learnt so many new skills beside Beckie. I have enjoyed being with Beckie’s spontaneous self. One day we are in Costa next minute we are working from Bicester Village. One thing I have loved about the job the most is chatting to people on the phone. I have loved listening to people and relating to so many members is different ways. I’ve loved getting to know people and watching people grow.
You all are so lucky to be apart of something so special! The Army DC really is one big family. I promise you will not get the same feel at any other Dance school. Beckie has created this family and I have so much love for everyone. I see the teens as my younger siblings, they really do look up to us!
I have watched and been apart of The Army DC go through a pandemic for the first time ever and I was so lucky to still have my job throughout. Beckie done everything in her power to keep the place running for us all.
I just want to say thank you to you all for making my time working at The Army DC so special and BUSY! I learnt a lot about you all.
Can’t wait to see what The Army DC has left to offer the next few years, bring on show 2022!
