Chelsea

Teacher

Hey guys it’s Chels (the cool fun teacher ). I have been dancing and performing for 15 years now. I found my love for teaching and choreographing dance around the age of 12 but I have been teaching with the army dc for nearly 3 years now. Specialising in Hip-Hop but have also taught urban contemporary style. I have been lucky to have performed at multiple events such as festivals, charity events and theatres such as her majesty’s theatre in London ( where the phantom of the opera is held). I competed in national competitions from the age of 12 placing in quads, pairs and team and solos. I have also trained with teachers from London who are some of the best choreographers in the industry. With this being said I gained a lot of experience and training in all styles such as Street dance, Freestyle, Rock&Roll and dabbled in a bit of ballroom for a few years. I was also lucky enough to co choreograph and be a demonstrator at the IDTA Congress event held in Southport in front of many judges and teachers from all around the country. Since joining THE ARMY DC I have grown so much mentally and physically not just as a dancer but as a person. I am so thankful to Beckie and the amazing teachers and students from THE ARMY DC for the continuous support and believing in me from day one. It’s allowed me to completely be myself and to express my emotions and personality through movement and I cannot thank you all enough.
As a teacher I ensure you that you will make a new friend every week and feel comfortable and confident in my classes. I will push you to execute movements to your full potential but also remember why you started dancing in the first place and just have fun.
Watching my students grow every single week is so rewarding and I remember when I first started to now and it’s honestly the best sport you will ever do I have never known a more supportive dance school that believes in potential in every single person. I am so grateful for where I am now and also excited for what’s to come. Thank you and love you all.
