Taylor has been dancing at the Army DC for years and has recently started training at Wilkes Academy. She now teaches our contemporary, heels and commercial classes on rotation. She has come from being a quiet but beautiful technical dancer to an incredible performer in a variety of styles.
Here’s what Taylor has to say:
“My name is Taylor Whitehouse and I have been with the Army DC for around 4-5 years now. I started due to feeling so underconfident in commercial as I had been mainly classically trained prior and yet now I am doing my professional training at Wilkes Academy – a commercial-focused school. This I feel speaks volumes about how much the company really enhances the confidence of young dancers and helps them grow in all aspects. Without the encouragement and training from the Army DC I wouldn’t be confident enough to be in the position I’m in now, training to hopefully book jobs in the commercial industry – something I never could have imagined even saying as my younger self. My favourite class at the Army probably would have to be commercial although heels falls closely second. These two classes I feel always have people walk out with a smile on their faces and feeling empowered doing what they love to do.”
